Shellie,
I just took some pictures of Darcy, AKA Pebbles, and thought you would like to see her.
She is everything I wanted. She has to know where I am at all times when I am home. She is loving and quiet at night and playful and wild during the day. She likes to voice her opinion at me when she can! I take her with me everywhere. She stayed at the motel with us in Bay City, and behaved real well. She likes most everyone she has come in contact with (except the orkin guy!).
Nancy says she is very well behaved on the grooming table. I brush her at least every other day, and Nancy says that makes a big difference. Nancy just finished giving her her first haircut and its about 1/2 inch long now, but she can play outside without getting stuff caught in her coat.

Shellie,
Halo (AKA Lucy), is almost 7 months old now and just sweet as can be. She was well adjusted the day we brought her home, because you took the time to raise her as part of the family. She is used to all household noises, likes to go to the vet and sits still for her check ups and shots.
She is calm, well behaved, very healthy and a joy. I can't thank you enough, as we are so pleased with her. I would recommend you to anyone who is looking for a healthy, well adjusted Shih Tzu puppy.
Her coat is beautiful and thick. The groomer said she was perfect! That says a lot about you and how she was raised. You may use me as a reference.
It was well worth the drive to come see her. I am so pleased. Frank, my husband, loves the fact that she meets him at the door when he comes home. She is attached to him too. Now, that is good!!

Hi Shellie!!!
I would LOVE TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT MY WONDERFUL BREEDER!!!
First I would like to say, I am the SUPER proud owner of the most adorable puppies on the planet!
Mya AKA Martina, and Garth were born 11-11-07 (lucky numbers!), and are brother and sister from mom Skye and dad Sam. If you look at the parents, my two babies are the most beautiful mixture of them both. They are golden brown and white, with hints of red and some black; they are GORGEOUS! Mya is 9.5 lbs and Garth is a healthy 10 lbs.
While they are brother and sister, they have the exact opposite personalities! Mya is a mile a minute, can not sit down with out wagging her tail, she is the happiest puppy I have ever seen. Garth, on the other hand, is just chillin! He is the "king" at our house, and he knows it!
They are very active, love walks, LOVE to eat, love the belly rubs and they listen very well. (usually better with treats!) and are outstanding babies.
Working with Shellie was a tremendous experience. She kept in touch every day, (my mother and I stalked her!). She let us come over and see the babies before we took them home. Our original plan was to just get Mya, but I fell in love with Garth too. She worked out a great payment plan for us to afford both! She kept them super clean and well taken care of. They had their first shots and a nice bath before they came home.
I would also like to say that our last Shih Tzu of 13 years, Pretzle, was not taken care of before we got her, she did not have a booklet filled out with her history for the vet.
On our first visit with Mya and Garth to Harper vet, Dr. Barns said, "this breeder is amazing for keeping track of mom and dad's history and conditions, and providing him with their health information". Sam was allergic to Lepto, so we knew NOT to give the babies this vaccine!
We still keep in contact with Shellie 6 months after them being home, we update her with pictures and funny stories! She is terrific at her job, and provides the most stunning Shih Tzus!! I will recommend her to anyone!
I just wanted you to know as well as everyone else, that I LOVE YOU AND MY BABIES!!!! (even tho Garth peed on me today for no reason...arg-oh well, but I still LOVE him!!)

A few years ago, my husband and I decided it was time to adopt a family pet. After deciding that the Shih Tzu breed would be a perfect fit, we started looking around for breeders in our area. We looked at MANY of them, and actually went out to take a look at a lot of the dogs we saw online, but were not very happy with the ones we were seeing. We really wanted a quality puppy from someone who was not just breeding for money, but for the love of the breed. After searching a few months more, we came across a website called Belle River Shih Tzu's. The site had a lot of information about the breeder herself, as well as pictures of her available puppies, info about the parents, pedigrees and pictures of past litters. I clicked on the available puppy link, and there he was! We saw a picture of our Bruiser (aka Dasher), and it was love at first sight! I immediately emailed Shellie! She asked quite a few questions about us and our home, as all good breeders should. I knew then, that Shellie really wanted good homes for her puppies, and that she was not like some of the other breeders we had looked at in the past weeks. Shellie is very knowledgeable, and really made me comfortable to ask any questions I needed. The fact that Shellie and her mother have been breeding for so long made us even more comfortable. Shellie invited us to her home to meet Bruiser, and see the environment they were raised in! We got to see the parents and all of the babies that were available at that time. Bruiser was still our favorite! We spent a lot of time there to make sure he was comfortable with us, and decided he would be a perfect fit for our family. Shellie has been great! She followed up with us for a few weeks to make sure he was eating and adapting well to his new home. We have had Bruiser for 2 years now, and still keep in touch with Shellie! She will always be Bruisers first mommy! Bruiser is a part of our family, he goes for car rides, vacations, everything!
I can't believe what a great quality dog he is, and hes sooo smart! He was a piece of cake to train. We've learned all his emotions, and what makes him happy, and what makes him smile (which is very cute if I may add!!) Everyone that meets him falls in love with him, and our family could not do without him. I would recommend Belle River Shih Tzu's to anyone. In my experience looking at breeders, you will not find one that cares about her puppies and adults like Shellie does. If I got another dog, it would be from Shellie. Thanks so much Shellie, we could not be more pleased.

As the proud owners of Jack and Rudy, (aka Blitzen and Rudolph), we have been so impressed with the quality of the dogs, as well as the great care and attention they received before joining our family. Shellie is an excellent breeder, who knows and especially cares about her puppies. We couldn't have been more impressed with her and her dogs. Been a while, but I just wanted to thank you for our little Gizmo, (AKA Ricky). He is the joy of our lives. He is so smart and loving, and wants constant attention. He plays so hard he wears himself out! His favorite toy is a little yellow ball and he carries it with him all the time. He is a great little brother to our big Bullmastiff, Pesci, and stays by her side whenever we are outside. He follows her and she is just a motherly type to him and always watching over him. When my daughter and I decided to take the plane ride out to Michigan from New Jersey, I was a little worried. But when we got to your house, the welcome was well worth the trip! You were willing to answer questions and give complete answers. You are definitely a well respected breeder in my eyes! Your dogs and puppies were kept clean and cared for. I will say LOVED! It was noticable as soon as I walked in the door. I have told people about you and have said it was well worth the trip to Michigan for a great puppy! Gizmo is my fiance's best bud. He is so attached to him and does not leave his side when he is home. He even sleeps on his side of the bed, and of course, any little wimper out of him, and he is right up on the bed next to my fiance!! He has spoiled him rotten, but it is a joy to see, since he loves animals so much and hasn't had any in a while. I bought Gizmo a huge high car seat that he can see out the windows of the car, but yet is strapped in for safety. He just loves it.  Shellie, WOW, what can I say! We are absolutely thrilled with our new addition to our family! Having to put my old dog down last Nov., I was heartbroken, wasn't sure I was ready to start looking for a new Shih Tzu anytime soon. Just happened upon your website, while trying to figure out if I even wanted another dog. I saw the disney litter and fell in love with "Buzz". Just had to see him in person. We've since named him Ozzy, and he is the BEST! He loves going outside no matter what the weather, he loves going for walks and actually does a fantastic job listening to us for commands. He is very social and loves the cats, (probably more than they would like!) He loves his sister, Penelope, (this little Jack Russel of my husbands). And believe it or not, he loves the horses! I have 3, and almost daily, he runs down to visit with them! Its so cute! And of course, he wants to be the center of attention when we have the whole family together (20 some people). Up at our cottage, he has decided he loves fishing! He will walk in the water along the beach, and fish! Seriously, he is so funny to watch. He will sit down right in the water from time to time and watch the boats pass by, then gets back to fishing! He hasn't caught anything yet, but he keeps trying! I just had to send you a note and tell you how happy we are, that we found you and our new little guy Ozzy. Thank you so much for all that you have done. I carry your cards with me wherever I go, and am always asked about him. You take care, and I will send more photos soon.
